Think Soup is written by Priya Raj — a child psychiatrist, researcher, and mother in London.
About
Here, I write about the emotional texture of everyday life: from parenting and identity to development, cognition, memory, and the inner lives we carry. My essays blend personal experience with clinical insight, drawing on what I know professionally and what I’m still figuring out as a person.
I’m interested in what evidence can tell us — and what it can’t — about how we think, feel, and raise our children and ourselves.
Not everything is about motherhood. But everything is about what it means to feel, to grow, and to make sense of being human.
If that speaks to you, I’d love for you to subscribe.

A little extra
Priya is a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist and a doctoral researcher in cognitive neuroscience and epidemiology. Her PhD focuses on patterns of thinking and how these can impact mental health in young people.
The ideas shared here are for reflection and general information, not clinical advice. While I genuinely hope the guidance I share helps improve your wellbeing and that of your family, I can’t provide personalised psychiatric advice without understanding your specific circumstances. Please consult your own doctor for advice tailored to your individual needs.
